 Accounting Manager

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, all areas of compliance, and the development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 

Reports to: Owner/Fractional CFO 

Location: Headquarters 

Type: Salary, Full Time position 

Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000.00 per year depending on experience

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly accounting tasks including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, sales tax returns (via Avalara), balance sheet reconciliations and other monthly reporting/compliance tasks.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present timely financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual) in accordance with GAAP.
  • Work with cash/credit card transactions including chargeback dispute resolution.
  • Inventory reconciliation and accounting.
  • Customer deposit accounting.
  • Maintain/monitor financial systems integrations and work to resolve issues as well as development of processes/procedures for improvement.
  • Coordinate information provided for annual income tax return and communication with external CPA.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives and provide financial insights.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to improve financial processes and reduce risks and ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Accepts other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online, including payroll
  • 3+ years with multi-state sales tax; Avalara or other sales tax software required
  • Experience with Stripe, Shopify and Affirm a plus
  • Experience with point-of sale systems
  • Experience with inventory accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with strict confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with other departments

Sales Associate

Reports To: Store Manager

Location: Denver Metro Area

Type: Full Time position, Flexible Schedule (Weekend & Holiday Coverage Required).

Salary Range: $20-$23 (Depending on Experience) plus benefits

Job Purpose Summary: On our team, everyone plays a critical role. As a Sales Associate you will provide a world-class customer experience in order to meet Sarah O. company goals through product knowledge, personal engagement, and luxury service. This position will also be responsible for assisting with daily administrative activities that support the overall sales function and team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates a world-class customer experience by greeting customers, building rapport, listening to their jewelry needs, and guiding them through a smooth purchase process
  • Proactively educates self about fine jewelry, the Sarah O. brand, and internal processes
  • Informs customers about relevant products, events, promotions, policy and services
  • Keeps the showroom floor and stockroom organized and clean, and assists in the preparation of in-store events, changing seasons, and new marketing campaigns
  • Maintains overall appearance of case displays by re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day and communicates inventory levels with Sales Leadership
  • Assists with taking customer orders and repairs, answering inquiries/contacting customers via phone and email, and preparing order shipments
  • Follows internal processes and procedures accurately and consistently
  • Maintains positive working relationships throughout the company
  • Assists with Sales Team projects, as needed
  • Accepts other duties as assigned

Specific Requirements:

  • 1+ year in a retail environment or related experience, luxury or fine jewelry experience a plus
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • Flexible, ability to quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Self-starter, Proactively seeks out projects
  • Ability to create a positive work environment through teamwork and collaboration
  • Works a regular schedule with requests off conducive with traffic levels, season, and fair to hourly expectations (Weekend and holiday availability is required)
