We’ve kept our eye on rising trends, from Taylor Swift’s vintage diamond cut, to design details like bezels and east-west settings. Now we’re sharing what we’ve learned to help you find the ring of your dreams.

Whether you’re shopping for an engagement or ready to upgrade your ring, here are the styles to watch as we head into the new year.

Old Mine Cut Engagement Rings

The Old Mine cut is a vintage diamond shape that originated in the 18th century. Today, it’s rising in popularity after Travis Kelce popped the question to Taylor Swift with an approximately 8 ct Old Mine cut engagement ring. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind stone to celebrate your own Love Story, look no further.

No two Old Mine cut stones are alike. That’s because these gems were originally hand-cut in a fashion that preserved as much of the raw diamond as possible. Because of this, they may be slightly asymmetrical.

If you’re ready to rock old-world glamour, cushion cuts are a great alternative to Old Mine cuts. Old Mine diamonds appear similar to cushion cut diamonds, with square or rectangular shapes and rounded edges, but there are some key differences. Old Mine cuts have a smaller table (the flat surface on top of the diamond) and a larger culet (the flat facet at the bottom of the diamond) compared to cushion cuts.

The Maeve Long Cushion Champagne Solitaire - $12,550

This ring features a 2.05 ct long cushion cut diamond, perfect for evoking the timeless elegance of Taylor’s engagement ring. The diamond’s champagne hue adds a romantic look to this vintage-inspired ring.

Marquise Shaped Diamonds

Marquise diamonds are an elongated shape with points on both ends. Think of it as oval’s edgier cousin. Marquise engagement rings have been slowly trending upwards over the years, but this shape shot into the spotlight following Selena Gomez’s engagement to Benny Blanco.

Benny proposed with a custom ring featuring a marquise diamond, estimated at a 6-8 carat weight. In a profile with Interview magazine, Selena shared that she’s dreamed of marquise diamonds for years. It’s only fitting that she’d be the one to take the trend to new heights.

The Jenna Marquise Ring - $2,715

This solitaire marquise ring features a 1–3 ct natural or lab-grown diamond set in six prongs. Like Selena’s engagement ring, it also has a pavé band that creates a solid line of sparkle.

East-west Engagement Ring Settings

East-west engagement rings feature an elongated stone set perpendicular to the wearer’s finger. While elongated stones are typically set north-south, with the ends pointing towards the palm and fingertip, east-west settings can bring a unique twist to classic designs.

This trend first took off when Zendaya was spotted on the red carpet with a diamond ring, subtly announcing her engagement to Tom Holland. Zendaya’s engagement ring features an approximately 5 ct cushion cut diamond set in an east-west orientation. The center stone is wrapped in a gold bezel for a sleek, modern look.

The Austen Emerald Cut Solitaire - $2,665

The Austen ring features a 1–3 ct solitaire emerald diamond set east-west. The half-bezel setting creates a smooth golden look, like Zendaya’s ring, while the gaps in the bezels allow even more light to shine through the center of the diamond. The emerald diamond also hints at Art Deco influences, another recent trend.

Chunky Gold Engagement Rings

Your diamond isn’t the only way to make an engagement ring statement. Dua Lipa made waves this summer when she debuted her engagement ring featuring a chunky gold band, and with that, a new trend was born.

Dua’s engagement ring features a round diamond set into a wide cigar band for a piece that radiates classic bling. The diamond is set nearly flush with the band for a seamless look—and one that won’t snag on fabric.

The Lennox Oval Signet Ring - $3,660

The Lennox engagement ring features a 1–2 ct oval center stone set in four prongs. The wide band tapers from ~10mm near the stone to ~2mm at the thinnest part of the band, for a look that is both bold and dainty. Like Dua’s ring, this piece features a low profile that’s practical for everyday wear without sacrificing bling.

Mixed Metal Engagement Rings

Why choose just one metal for your engagement ring? Mixed metal rings feature multiple hues or types of metal. For example, yellow gold and platinum, or white and yellow gold. Going into 2026, we’re seeing more brides choose mixed metal engagement rings to express their unique style or enhance the center stone.

Mixed metal rings can be eye catching, with noticeable contrast between the metals that makes these rings stand out from the crowd. The two metals can visually represent two lives coming together into one marriage.

Mixed metal rings can also be subtle. Rings with yellow gold or rose gold bands can feature a white gold bezel or prongs in order to make the center diamond look brighter.

You can also mix metals within your ring stack. For example, pairing a rose gold engagement ring with a white gold wedding band. The sky is the limit once you start mixing metals!

Matching Wedding Bands

Matching wedding bands are on the rise. Couples choose this synchronized style to demonstrate their equal partnership and commitment.

The bands don’t have to be exactly the same in order to match. In fact, many couples are choosing creative ways to match each others’ bands. One might have a wider band than the other, or feature the same stone as their partner’s engagement ring set into the band.

There are many ways to match your spouse’s wedding band, whether you want the exact same ring or a more subtle nod to your partnership together.

The Drew Band - $936

Celebrate your partnership in style with matching Drew Bands, available in 4mm or 6mm width. These classic gold rings feature a unique ridged texture, for a subtle design nod that’ll show the world you two belong together.

Colored Gemstone Engagement Rings

Your engagement ring doesn’t have to be a white diamond or colorless alternative. Colored gemstones are rising in popularity among modern couples looking for an outside-the-box ring. Popular options include champagne diamonds, blue sapphires, pink sapphires, and rubies.

Celebrities who’ve rocked the colored gemstone trend include Scarlett Johansson, who wears a light brown diamond set in a sculptural band, a departure from the traditional white diamond ring.

The Ruth Champagne Pear Diamond Ring - $14,376

Classic beauty meets a modern hue in the Ruth engagement ring. This three-stone ring features a 2.04 ct champagne pear diamond flanked by oval white diamonds.

Bezel Engagement Ring Settings

Bezel is a style of engagement ring setting that encases the stone in solid metal. Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Zendaya’s engagement rings all feature this sleek setting detail, signaling that bezels are trending in a big way.

Another benefit of bezel rings is their security. While prongs can bend and snag, bezels hold the stone snugly in place. If you’re looking for a ring that’s practical for everyday wear, bezels are a smart and stylish choice.

The Bailey Pear Solitaire - $2,445

The Bailey engagement ring features a classic pear-shaped diamond encased in a gold bezel. It’s perfect for those looking for a more minimalist engagement ring that makes a big impression.

We predict these rings will be popular in 2026, but you should choose a ring you’ll love forever. Regardless of jewelry trends, we hope you found a style in this article that speaks to your love story.
